LONGMONT, Colo.— Robert Gerald Peterson, 56, of Longmont, died Tuesday (Oct. 13, 1998) at Boulder Community Hospital.

Mr. Peterson was employed as an automobile salesman, a job he truly enjoyed.

He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He moved to Longmont on Dec. 24, 1997, from Northglenn.

He belonged to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont.

He loved his family, fly fishing and adventures in his motor home. He also loved the Denver Broncos.

He will be remembered for his love of both chili and popsicles.

Born June 21, 1942, in Mason City, the son of Adler Peterson and Florence Crook Peterson. He married Jackie Lee Williams on April 27, 1990, in Thornton.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie, of Longmont, Colo.; his mother, Florence Peterson, of Mason City; one son, Mike Rabb, of Denver; four daughters, Darcy Madden, of Northwood; Kim Travers of Chicago; Darcy Arvada; and Carrie Quiggle and her husband, Chris, of Ham Lake, Minn.; one brother, Jim Peterson and his wife, Cindy, of Rudd, Iowa; three sisters, Sharon Norris, of Chicago; Marcia Christensen and her husband, Dennis, of Mason City, Iowa; and Nancy Easley and her husband, Ray, of Marion, Iowa; two grandchildren, Eric Quiggle and Derek Madden; his parents-in-law, Jack and Lee Williams, of Yuma, Ariz.; and his brother-in-law, Curt Williams and his wife, Sharon, of Littleton, Colo.

Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Gary Peterson.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Third Avenue and Terry Street, in Longmont, Colo., with the Rev. Bruce Welander and the Rev. Beth Graham, officiating. Cremation has been held at Howe Mortuary and Crematory in Longmont.
