Terry Don Jilek, 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Good Shepherd Health Care Center in Mason City, Iowa.
The family will have a private burial that will be held at a later date.
Terry was born on March 11, 1941 in Crystal Lake, Iowa, the son of Fred and Carol “Maxine” (Stevens) Jilek. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1960. After graduation he went into the United States Army until his honorable discharge. On May 20, 1967 Terry married Linda Duckert in Glenville, Minnesota, from this loving union two sons were born.
Terry started his glazier career at Mason City Glass and then relocated to Des Moines at Clark Glass where he continued working with them for over 36 years.
He had a passion for fishing and watching NASCAR. Terry always enjoyed talking to his friends. He often took trips to casinos to play slots and black jack. Before Linda’s passing the couple would travel all over but especially liked seeing their kids and grandkids.
Those left to cherish memories of Terry are his son, Tim (Melissa) Jilek; grandchildren, Joe, Jordan, Tad, Collin and Madison; brother, Jimmy Jilek; sister, Mary (John) Willier; brother-in-law, Joe (Barb) Duckert; as well as great grandchildren.
Terry is preceded in death by his wife, Linda; son, Rob; as well as his parents, Fred and Maxine Jilek and parents-in-law, Lawrence and Gladys Duckert; and siblings, Fredde Jilek and Scott Jilek.
