Richard L. Herrera

SEPTEMBER 24, 1941 – JUNE 15, 2018

Richard L. Herrera, 76, peacefully passed away on June 15, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Rich was well known for his infectious laugh, love of sports (especially golf), coaching, and loyalty to friends and family. He always made you feel welcome. Above all, Rich was known for his devotion to his wife of 50+ years, Sharon. You’d rarely find one without the other.

Rich is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Randall (Melanie); grandchildren, Jadyn, Reece and Cruz; brothers, Albert, Jesse, and Joe and a large list of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 pm on Monday, June 18 at McLaren’s Funeral Chapel in West Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 1 pm until service time. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
