Ankeny

Patricia Anne (Margulies) Cahill, 71, of Ankeny, passed away unexpectedly on February 27, surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4th, at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church in Ankeny. Visitation will immediately follow. A celebration of her life and community service will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 8th, at Northview Middle School (1302 N. Ankeny Blvd).

Pat was born on June 28, 1942 in Rapid City, SD. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1960. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim, on February 28, 1962. They lived in Omaha for ten years before moving to Ankeny in 1974, where they raised their four children.

Pat was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved unconditionally and everyone she touched was better for having known her. She served on the Ankeny School Board for 17 years, was an active member of the community and was employed at DMACC in the continuing education department for over 20 years.

Pat is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jim, her children Shannon (Jeff) Lamberti, Shelley (Scott) Starr, Scott (Amber) Cahill, and Steven Cahill, her 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Pat's name to Dollars for Scholars, the Ankeny Community School District Foundation or the Animal Rescue League.
